You Made It!

You made it! You're in the right place! Welcome! Come on in, make yourself at home. Watch that first step- it's a little shaky.

What's your favorite word? Apparently, "Cellar Door" was Tolkien's favorite. I'm partial to "Subterranean," not for the sound so much as the interesting construct and the associations with the Kerouac book, and the song, "Subterranean Homesick Blues."

  1. I've too many favorites to list completely, and none of them can claim to be "the" favorite. But here are a few, off the top of my head:

    angioplasty
    translucent
    municipal
    acquiesce
    fallopian
    sphygmomanometer

  2. My sphygmomanometer has been on the blitz for a few weeks. You see, the sphygmomanometer repair man is busy having angioplasty this weekend (ironic, isn't it?) and I hear they are out of the usual parts they use, and he may have to acquiesce to using the translucent type, favoured by municipal meter maids having their fallopian tubes replaced.

I just love it when you can use them all in one sentence. It gives me a little rush.

    willful
    acrid
