  1. b-b-but ... it's all side dishes! Where's the turkey? Where's the ham?

  2. Falafel isn't a side dish at all. It's the hot dog of the middle east. Besides, in a traditional Thanksgiving, the turkey is kind of a side dish, because you have so many other things to eat.

  3. Ah, yes. Go Gina!

But Dad, the funny thing is, I was trying to get your goat with the wine. I thought for sure that if I just said, "wine," you would have asked for the kind of wine, because no one from Sonoma County just says, "wine," and I would then get you really annoyed by saying, "red wine," and you would think you had completely lost me to the horrors of the Midwest... But not really. Alas, it didn't happen. You just got all caught up on no meat!

  4. I noticed that you hid the label. What kind of wine was it?

What's falafel? I thought it was a desert.

  5. Falafel is a deep fried cake made of chick peas. It's the hot dog of the Middle East.

  6. Chick pea cake? I guess you told me that once, and all I remembered was the cake part, so I thought "dessert". I sort of blocked out the "chick pea" part because it sounded gross.

    That's very different. Never mind!
