  1. It's a typesetter. Noisy machine!

    One of my first jobs was at a lithography shop. There was a little room with 8 of these, and 8 men sitting at them making the most gowd-awful din you can imagine.

    They wanted to teach me to smelt the lead ingots that go into it. I guess nobody realized that lead was poisonous at the time.
