  1. Still not as cold as Fairbanks!

-40 before wind chill. Now that's cold. You can feel the heat leaving your body through many, many layers of clothing...

-40 is not exactly the cat's pajamas - I moved away from there as quickly as I could.

  2. Good gracious! Y'all are welcome to visit NC! It'll be in the 20s here on Friday! The low will be around 10, I think. Last time I checked we had room for a few more.

  3. You'll be needing your mittens and thermals then.

I don't use metric or imperial. I prefer Randall Munroe.

  4. Yes, I have seriously considered printing out the XKCD guide at http://www.xkcd.com/526/ and taking it to Europe with me! It's awesome.

I guess, with the wind chill factor, it would be something like spit goes clunk very far away, or spit smacks you in the face and leaves a scar!

  5. Wow, Denver is balmy!

"Plentiful sunshine. High 57F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph."

Of course, since the bitter cold hit us in December this year instead of waiting for February, I won't gloat.
