... and so is her last.
"Nothing Gold Can Stay" by Robert Frost is the only poem I have unintentionally memorized. I just loved it so much and read it so many times that I don't have to see the print anymore. I also have a recording of Robert Frost reading it, which I listen to sometimes.
I love fall. It's my favorite season. It's all about death, isn't it? and what's not to love about that?
Goth!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, my Halloween card to the family will be late as my Edgar Allan Poe stamps have yet to arrive.
The late Edgar Allan Poe...
ReplyDeleteHe was supposed to be here last week.
ReplyDeleteNothing Gold Can Stay is one of my favourite poems too! :)
ReplyDeleteFall is my absolute favourite time of the year...mind you right now our fall colours (what's left of them) are covered in snow. I guess I better get my boots out!
Mom told me once about her favorite kind of day. She called it a "green and gold day" and I picture it just like your photo. She didn't have to describe it, I just knew what she meant. It conjures up everything about life that is bittersweet. Just like Autumn.
ReplyDeleteFantastic photo. (It's 85 degrees here today and nary an orange or gold leaf to be seen.)
